Race Winner Interview

How did you make your way to the Windber Speedway League?  Tell us a bit about yourself:  I'm originally from South Carolina, went to college there, then interned with a NASCAR team, that went well enough that I was able to go on and make a career out of working on race cars.iccrew RSCANnd aHow did you make your way to the Windber Speedway League?  Well, fellow league racer  Chris Lawson turned me on to the league and I had fun with it this summer so I decided to join for  season 4.

How did race 1 go for you aside from Winning?  Really well.  I was able to stay up front all night so I really didn't have many issues to speak of.  The lack of yellow flags really helped as my strategy could have been undone if an untimely caution had occurred at a few key points in the night.  I honestly was a bit worried at the start when we struggled to go green.

How did you manage to maximize bonus points, stage points, and win the race?  Lol, well, the whole race really went to plan for me.  I think I only missed 2 points in stage 3, otherwise it was a pretty perfect race for me.  My fuel, tire, and pit road strategies all fell right in line, especially tire conservation, as I was in good shape to hold on with speed in the end.

What do you think you could do differently/better in future races?  I'm a really conservative driver, and I think I need to work on being a bit more "up on the wheel" in the future.  I need to be able to push it a bit more when the time comes to do so.

How long have you been iracing?

Since the spring of 2022

Garrett congratulations on your week 1 victory at Charlotte!  Thank you for joining the Windber Speedway League.  Your skill and professionalism adds a lot to our race league as season four is shaping up to be super competitive!
